Software testing firm LogiGear opens Tokyo office

Software testing and test automation solutions provider LogiGear has opened a new office in Tokyo, its third regional office in the Asia-Pacific region.

The company said in a statement that it had appointed Dr Juichi Takahashi as chief executive of the new office.

Update, 6 March: The company has informed iTWire that it cancelled the opening of this office.  Instead, LogiGear decided it would service the Tokyo region out of existing locations in Shin Yokohama.

The opening of the Japan office comes in the same year that LogiGear will be marking its 25th year of operations.

It said the new office would create opportunities to offer its expertise and software testing services through other locations like the Shin Yokohama headquarters, nearshore delivery centre (Okinawa, Japan), offshore delivery centres (HCMC and Danang, Vietnam), and US delivery centres (Silicon Valley, Houston, TX, and Seattle, WA).

Before being hired by LogiGear, Dr Takahashi held engineering and technical leadership positions in software testing and QA for prominent software/IT and product companies including Microsoft, SAP, and Sony.

Dr Takahashi has extensive experience in testing and quality engineering and is the author of the top-selling testing book in Japan, “Software Testing for Beginners.”

“The Japanese market is known around the world for its software innovation and quality," said Hung Nguyen, chief executive of LogiGear and chief business development officer of LogiGear Japan.

"We’re not only excited to open our new Tokyo division, be part of the community, showcase our expertise, and help advance testing and test automation in this country, but we’re also excited for the leadership our new CEO will bring as we continue to grow.

“With Dr Takahashi at the helm, we will be able to provide better service for our customers and concentrate on business development in the ever-important APAC region.”
